We are seeking a  Senior Beauty Therapist to join our team and be an integral part of building our Medi-Spa treatments. In this role, you will report to the Salon Director and will be required to follow systems and policies, complete treatments, build and maintain strong client relationships, achieve salon targets, secure future bookings with clients, train other staff, perform reception, retail and administration duties, clean/tidy and help systemise the salon .

The perfect candidate will be a therapist who has a passion for the industry & wanting to learn more, excels in customer service, often goes above and beyond for their clients, an eye for detail and improving systems and who will enjoy a positive working relationship with all staff & management.

Desirable Qualifications:

A Diploma or Certificate 4 in Beauty Therapy,  Diploma in Massage Therapy (Health Fund Registered) and  IPL laser safety officer certificate

Pre-requisites for this position include:

• Australian resident  or working visa
• A minimum of 3 years industry experience in a busy salon
• Confidence in your approach to treatments, retail & rebooking clients & reaching targets

Receptionist / Administration assistant

Key Responsibilities;

  •   Screening and handling calls, messages and e-mail enquiries
  •   Booking appointments efficiently to reach Salon KPI’s & therapist SalesTargets 
  •   Google Diary Management for Owner meetings with staff and Salon Duties
  •   Maintaining filing systems
  •   Reception duties,  Retailing skin care, ( Babor, Jane Iredale mineral makeup, ZO skincare, Sothys)  and advising on and booking treatments and selling Gift Vouchers 
  •   Liaising with clients including appointment setting and client enquiry follow up for treatments and packages

Skills and attributes

 Reception /front desk duties selling gift vouchers, skin care, make up and booking spa treatments efficiently for our clients. A strong knowledge of computers and booking system software program called Kitoomba will be very beneficial.

 Previous experience in running a business so as to have acquired an understanding of business finances and budgets and meeting KPI’s will be favoured.

  Social media Marketing and networking will play an important role in this position so knowledge of facebook, twitter and blogging will be advantageous. Adding promotions to our website and monthly e-newsletters will be required so strong English comprehension, spelling and punctuation is necessary in order to represent our business in the professional nature our clients are accustomed to. Editing basic data and images on our website .

 Keeping a tight appointment schedule via phone and walk ins, responding to both phone enquiries and online enquiries, checking clients in and out of the spa and directing the therapists are daily responsibilities. Stock control and ordering of stock.

 Maintaining business targets and accounts are also primary responsibilities. Maintaining financial consistency and improving the bottom line of the business will be measured.

Experience in hiring staff and filling out HR documentation and training staff to reach salon KPIs is essential. Also will be required to conduct staff meetings, staff reviews and monthly managers meetings with owner .

 Knowledge of Babor, ZO Skin Health  skin care by Dr Zein Obagi  &  Jane Iredale mineral makeup and spa treatments will make this role less challenging for you. A general passion for the spa industry though and a love of customer service is essential.

Previous experience in a Management role is required and marketing experience beneficial. An example of previous marketing material written by yourself will be asked for if you are interviewed.

Who Can apply
 School leavers aged 15- 17 years of age and completed Year 10, or Year 11 or Year 12 .
Students aged 15- 17 currently enrolled Certificate III in Beauty or aged 15-18 who have completed Certificate III in Beauty 

Cullen Bay Day Spa - Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy

Apprenticeship is 2 years full time.

Course enrolment - Certificate III in Beauty

If you are willing to enrol in the course, it can be government funded if working less than 3 months with us when you enroll at CDU ( Charles Darwin University) . Course cost is approx $1186.50 and 565 hours .

 

Computer & social media skills

Apprentice must be knowledgable of computer software and be able to use Windows XP, word, outlook or google , publisher, powerpoint, movie maker and the internet and be able to touch-type. Experience in social media ( facebook) is also beneficial.

Previous work experience
Previous experience working in a Beauty salon or Spa and must be able to demonstrate skills in retail sales & meeting sales targets, retail displays, customer service and reception.

 

Passionate and self interest the beauty industry
